Immersion Dance Company (IDC) is committed to expanding the ways in which dance can enrich all audiences. IDC reaches out not only to those with an interest in dance, but also introduces it to those who have not experienced the art. Through performances, workshops, lecture demonstrations and events, IDC intends to promote an appreciation and comprehension of the cultural significance and value that the art of dance can add to people’s lives. IDC’s efforts in dance encourage people’s self-esteem, self-expression and well being.

IDC explores diverse movements in dance that include modern, contemporary, tap, African and hip-hop, as well as collaborates with other forms of art such as film, media, visual and spoken word. Through this collaboration, people from diverse backgrounds, ages, and levels of artistic experience can establish a meaningful connection to dance, promoting creativity and artistic growth. Additionally, IDC is dedicated to becoming role models to those who will preserve the art of dance for the future. There is an emphasis on exploration and creation that strives to bring out the artistry in each individual. Teaching workshops and lecture demonstrations will show profound significance of arts education.

The company builds on the vision of its founders by focusing on the unique quality and connection shared with one another, various artists, and the audience that provokes thought and stimulates emotional response. Works are created from the ideas of various choreographers to allow for exploration, discovery and growth. The repertoire is continuously built and maintained so that great conceptual ideas become real for the dancers and audience alike. The belief and freedom in creative expression both within us and in the public encourages our dance to be brought to all people in New York as well as nationally and internationally.
